Ruth Tarvydas

In one very exclusive evening for Perth's elite, we had the honors of being the first to see the Miss Universe 2009 gown, inspired by the iconic Sydney Opera House and to be worn by Australia's Rachel Finch.

There has certainly been a lot of critics and contreversy over it and well, I have to say that....................I love it!

It's fantastic, eye catching and dramatic. Just what Australia needs to be noticed on the Miss Universe stage.

What do you think?

We all know Ruth Tarvydas gown's from the famous red and revealing gown Rebecca Twiggley wore to the 2004 Brownlow Medal awards.

And Rebecca claims it was enough to launch her career. But is this stunning addition to Ruth's landmark designs enough to bring home the crown to Australia again? And most importantly, launch Rachel's career?

Soon we shall know. But until then, wish you were there.

Ae'lkemi 2009 Winter Collection

Last month one of Perth's premiere designers, Alvin Fernandez for Ae'lkemi, showcased his Winter collection to Perth's VIP's at the flagship store in Claremont. And I was there to see it first hand!!

Nothing makes me happier then to razzle and dazzle at the exquisite talent of any Perth designer. And that I did!

Although no photo's were taken on the night (as I let my hair down to fix my eye on the latest items for my wardrobe) here are a few photographs from the stunning collection:

Where creativity and talent is on the line as a designer, Alvin managed to capture my attention with his undeniable ability to transcend class and classic pieces with fashion forward items for this season.

V.I.P - What does it really mean?

Okay so we all know that the acronym stands for Very Important Person, but what does that really mean? And most importantly, what does that entitle said "V.I.P" to??

You've more than likely been waiting in a club/venue que only to see some glamorous bunch of so and so's walk straight to the front of the line as the bouncer ques them in...and you are reduced to wait for another hour or so! You've heard of a friend of a friend being picked up for drink driving only to hear that as soon as they dropped their surname & Mr. Policia asked if they're related to so and so, that the sudden act of drink driving had more than vanished like a David Copperfield illusion! And we've all watched in envy the treatment a celebrity gets and the free products lining up to be dropped into their goodies bag/s! OooOh, and what about the media those VIP's get...

We've all seen it and we've all heard about it, but how does one get oneself onto that so called V.I.P list? And is there a certain way one has to walk, talk and wear their clothes to even see a glimpse of it? Is there really a set code of conduct for said "V.I.P's"?

Of course there is!

And this winter there has been no shortage to that code of conduct for mwa. From VIP fashion events to designer unveiling's, movie premieres, discounted clothing and media attention. Some I can write about and some I simply can't put into words (or am ethically not allowed to). But most that I will be posting up here shortly.

All I can say is "wish you were here"!

M.I.A ???

Okay, so I haven't really been Missing In Action. In fact, my life has been packed with A-List events, and a social calendar to exhaust even the finest socialite. Ho Hum, it's a hard life!

So that said, and in a bid to cure my writers block, this is going to be an epic blog...teeming a few events together; 'en masse' style! ; )

Sit back and enjoy the journey, sit back and enjoy the sheer fact that I don't need to grab your attention with my words, but merely with my photographs (because that will make me feel better about this dreaded writer's block)!

Wish you were here.
